Property Refurbishment:
Jackdaw roofing also undertake full property refurbishment projects.
An example of one of our recent refurbishments:
PROJECT
- The flat roof was poorly constructed and after only 5 years was letting in large quantities of water, the water damage ruined the internal walls and the parquet, hardwood flooring.
- The contract was to strip out all the plasterboard through the main hall entrance and adjoining toilet, remove the damaged flooring, take off the roof and knock a wall through to give more space.
- We constructed a warm roof which adds excellent insulation and stops condensation in the roof space, an added lantern gives extra light and adds ascetic value to the room. The parapet walling was finished in welded lead to give a clean finish that will last for decades.
- We installed new electrics to the building, new plasterboard and insulation to the walls, a plastered finish with a light colour scheme.
- The plumbing was challenging with the existing ancient pipework, these problems were overcome and a new toilet and washbasin were installed along with Limestone flooring that completed the build.
- The main slate pitched roof was in a bad state or repair, rotting batons and rafters, split slate and the breather membrane compromised by birds and rodents.
- We stripped off the roof getting back to the rafters so we could carry out repair work.
- Installation of new breather membrane, battens and new slate, a lead apron was installed to take out the different pitch and new lead soakers and flashing.
